You've turned your back
That wasn't enough for you
You can't bring me down
Even though you try so hard
My friends have got my back, what do you have?
Some say friendship is hard to find
Well that doesn't apply to me
But for you, you're something different and I know why
And when the tables turn, you'll have no one to turn to
But I'll have my friends
And when the tables turn, you'll have no one to turn to
But I'll have my friends
Let's tell a story when things were different
Loyalty means nothing to you
Till that day, when everything went wrong
When everything went wrong
When everything went wrong
I've been low, but not as low as you
I've been low, but not as low as you
I've been low, but not as low as you
But never as low as you
As you
As you
But never as low as you

It's hard to describe why I love this album so much. It's just perfect in every way. Every track is so spectacular, but Knives and it's build up to that spectacular heavy part just takes the cake. Fantastic album from a fantastic band that needs to get back together. whatwasallthisfor
The Minneapolis band add a horn section, a running surrealist allegory about walls, and an occasional nod to the elegiac to their electroshocked post-punk. Bandcamp Album of the Day Mar 4, 2024

I generally appreciate the album by album move away from hardcore towards extreme metal. Yet for me personally, this is where the balance is perfect. Kind of like Metallica's Ride the Lightning: subsequent albums were more sophisticated and complex, yet less intense, too. Great to come back to, again and again. jornfin
